Winter is finally here: Game of Thrones ups the ante with White Walkers' revenge - The Sydney Morning Herald

Throughout six plot-twisting, ratings-busting, pop-culture-defining series of Game of Thrones there's been one constant: the weather. From that very first poster in 2011 (that told you a swords-and-sorcery epic that would surely only appeal to fantasy fans was on its way), "Winter" was "Coming". It's only after we've been told that the series will finish in 13 episodes time that the strapline has changed: this year, "Winter" is finally "Here".

What does that mean for the new series?

Kim Kardashian denies 'drug use' in Snapchat photo: 'That's sugar' - NEWS.com.au

Kim Kardashian now owns a little piece of history from Jackie Kennedy. The reality TV star spent $379,500 dollars on a Cartier timepiece that used to belong to the former First Lady.

WELL, it’s official - Kim Kardashian is not snorting lines of cocaine in her hotel room.

The reason why many on social media thought she was today? For that you can blame a marble table.

Two white lines in the background of a Kim K Snapchat sent her followers into meltdown, with many suggesting the suspicious-looking lines were an illicit substance.

After previously claiming the powder was sugar from a lolly bag, Kardashian later returned to her hotel room to discover the truth: It was nothing but a swirl in the marble table.

Wiz Khalifa's 'See You Again' dethrones Psy's 'Gangnam Style' as the most-watched video on YouTube - Economic Times

NEW YORK: "Gangnam Style," the quirky South Korean video that spawned a global dance craze and went so viral it nearly broke YouTube, has finally been dethroned as the most watched video.

After four and a half years as YouTube's most seen video, "Gangnam Style" slipped late Monday to number two, replaced by "See You Again" by Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth.

"Gangnam Style," a satirical take on the nouveau riche residents of the Seoul district by the same name, surprised even its singer, Psy, with its sudden global ascent in 2012.

Psy, who until "Gangnam Style" was little known outside of South Korea, found an avid fan base with the video's equestrian-style dance moves set to its infectious pop beat.

The video became the first to reach one billion views on YouTube and caused the site's engineers to scramble to make changes when it topped 2.1 billion views, previously...

“I’m sure it tastes great but looks very unappealing to eat, I wouldn’t eat it based on that, it looks like a burnt poo on a plate,” one commenter wrote on the cafe’s Instagram account.

Another commenter wrote: “Despite how it tastes, it looks terrible. And the health benefits of the addition of activated charcoal would be negated by the cooking process, the fats and oils in the...

A New Study Has Revealed The Age You're 'Too Old' To Go Clubbing - Triple M

Photo: 20th Century Fox

Apparently, there is a scientifically proven age people are deemed ‘too old’ to hit the club.

The study, conducted by Currys PC World, found that the age of 37 is when you should call it a day.

Research also found that by the age of 31, people lose interest in clubbing anyway, with 22% of people saying they couldn’t be bothered getting dressed up, 21% didn’t want to book a taxi, and 12% said they didn’t want to have to organise a babysitter.

"The Great Indoors study recognises the fact that there comes a time when we appreciate our home comforts more than a hectic social life and it can often be a drag to play the social butterfly at parties and nights out," researcher Matt Walburn explained.

"It's now almost impossible to get bored at home, with endless box sets and the latest technology, such as 4K TV, enhancing the in-house experience, so much, that it...

Judge mulls revealing how much Pirates cash Queensland gave to Disney - The New Daily

Dead men may tell no tales and Screen Queensland is determined to keep quiet about how much it paid for Disney to set course for Gold Coast studios.

The state government body crossed swords with the Information Commissioner at the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal on Wednesday, arguing it should be allowed to keep secret its business dealings over the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean movie.

The fight began two years ago when Glass Media Group executive producer Chris Boyd applied under the Right to Information Act for documents that disclosed Screen Queensland’s “incentive payment” to Disney.

Mr Boyd was given a one-page ministerial briefing with the payment amount redacted, something the Information Commissioner ruled was not acceptable.

The court heard it was only fair for the state to release the figure given the Australian federal government had freely divulged its...

WWE SmackDown Results: Winners, Grades, Reaction and Highlights from July 11 - Bleacher Report

0 of 8

Credit: WWE.com

Rivalries progressed on Tuesday's WWE SmackDown by way of a brawl, a vase smashed over Sami Zayn's head and a petulant former champion throwing a tantrum.

The show relied too heavily on tag team matches with minimal stakes, but the majority of the blue brand's feuds added more fire. The trip to San Antonio, Texas, saw Baron Corbin and Shinsuke Nakamura batter each other before the bell. Rusev ambushed John Cena. Mike Kanellis put his hands on Zayn.

Naomi, meanwhile, found herself spinning her wheels as the SmackDown Women's Championship picture takes its time in developing.

Some stories took baby steps. Some made significant strides ahead of the July 23 Battleground pay-per-view. Read on for a look at a full breakdown of Tuesday's SmackDown from AJ Styles' open challenge to a tag team headline bout.

Ninja Warrior's wellness smoothie recipe is not for the faint-hearted - 9Honey

Firefighter Alex Matthews, who makes his Australian Ninja Warrior debut in the fourth heat, has a secret weapon that could get him far in the competition.

The 33-year-old, who credits a focus on nutrition with improving his gut health and helping him reach his physical peak, has a “stock-standard smoothie” he makes every other morning to start his day.

Before you race to try out his recipe, be warned it’s “not the most amazing-tasting thing in the world”.

“I'm not going to lie,” Matthews tells Coach. “You kind of have to chew it. But it's great for you. After I've had it I feel great.”

The base of the smoothie is homemade kefir — a yoghurt-like dairy product that’s fast rising in popularity as a fermented superfood. (You can buy it premade it many health food stores, though it’s yet to appear in most mainstream supermarkets).

Kefir, which has a distinctively tart taste that’s akin...

Study finds exactly how old 'too old' is to go clubbing - Stoney Roads

Behold! We have evidence that suggests when you hit your 37th year of existence, you are basically too old to go clubbing (sorry pre-80's babies).

A recent study run by Currys PC World suggests that once you've reached 37, clubbing is a no-go and you're making bad life choices. Heavy...

According to their surveys, a vast majority of 31 year-olds prefer to stay in over going out (although Netflix, UberEats and a movie sounds pretty ideal to me).

Nearly 50% said they would rather stay at home regardless of the weather while the expenses of a night out were also one of the big excuses.

Other factors include the hard, draining task of socialising with other humans, getting ready or the effort that comes with organising a night out.

Matt Walburn of Currys PC World said: "It's now almost impossible to get bored at home, with endless box sets and the latest technology, such as 4K TV,...

Carrie Bickmore and Tommy Little host a radio show on the HIT network.

WHO will replace Hamish and Andy on radio when they walk away at the end of the year?

It’s one of the most discussed topics in radio circles but today Southern Cross Austereo’s chief creative officer revealed who is at the top of his list.

Guy Dobson told Fairfax that Carrie Bickmore and Tommy Little, who currently host a national 3-4pm show on the Hit Network, are the frontrunners.

“Carrie and Tommy have done extremely well for us and audiences love them,” Dobson said. “They’re in the box seat, but we are talking to lots of people.”

Most FM drive shows run from 4-6pm meaning that if Bickmore does get given the radio promotion, she’ll probably have to give up her hosting role...

Kim Kardashian shares REAL explanation behind two white mystery lines in video after being forced to deny using ... - Mirror.co.uk

Kim Kardashian has shown that the mystery white marks spotted in one of her Instagram videos was actually just two markings on the marble table top.

Earlier in the day, an eagle-eyed fan took a screenshot of one of her Instagram videos and pointed out what appeared to be two lines of white powder on the table behind her, suggesting that she'd been using the class-A drug.

But Kim quickly hit back to blast the claims in a tweet, saying: "I do not play with rumors like this so I'm gonna shut it down real quick. That’s sugar from our candy mess from Dylan’s Candy Shop."

But not everyone was convinced by her explanation, with one writing: "You keep your sugar in cut lines? Neat."
