THEY boast a star-studded roster that prides itself on professionalism, mental toughness and being fitter than the opposition.

But a worrying trend has emerged in the Roosters’ recent performances that Trent Robinson must rectify in Friday night’s clash against the never-say-die Knights.

After six rounds, the Roosters remain the only team in the NRL which has not won a second half.

Fox Sports Stats also show you have to go all the way back to round 23 in 2015 to find a game where the Roosters have won after trailing or being level with their opponents at halftime.

Fear of leaving Sydney Roosters big motivating factor for winger Daniel Tupou - dailytelegraph.com.au

ROOSTERS winger Daniel Tupou says the threat of being squeezed out of Bondi is driving him to greater heights this season.

Tupou is among several long-serving players facing uncertain futures at the Tricolours beyond this season with the club contemplating a changing of the guard.

These include fellow off-contracts stars Shaun Kenny-Dowall, Aidan Guerra and Blake Ferguson.

GUS’ BACKING: We’re supporting Moylan

Tupou, who is in the sights of Parramatta and Manly, would like to stay at the Roosters to finish his career. It’s why he is working overtime at training in a bid to prove his worth to coach Trent Robinson.

“I think just being off contract and wanting to be at the Rooters is probably motivating and driving me,” Tupou said.

“Hopefully I can keep playing well and the rest will take care of itself.”

Roosters ready for raid on Dugan - dailytelegraph.com.au

THE Roosters are preparing to poach Josh Dugan from the Dragons as the Kangaroos star remains locked in a contract stand-off with St George Illawarra.

While the Roosters have identified James Tedesco as their No.1 target to play fullback, the club has drawn up a hit list of other potential fullbacks should Tedesco remain at the Tigers or link with Canterbury.

The next cab off the rank is Dugan, who remains unsigned beyond this season as negotiations with St George Illawarra stall.

Nearly all the Roosters’ main outside backs are off contract at the end of this year, with only the up-and-coming Joseph Manu contracted beyond 2017 of those players who played against Newcastle on Friday night.

The “rested” Latrell Mitchell is also under contract, but the likes of Michael Gordon, Daniel Tupou, Shaun Kenny-Dowall and...

Blake Ferguson of the Roosters celebrates scoring a try against the Brisbane Broncos last week.

Sydney Roosters five-eighth Luke Keary has continued his NRL resurrection with the game-breaking try in his team's 24-6 Good Friday win over Newcastle.

The Roosters were holding onto a slender 12-6 lead midway through the second half at McDonald Jones Stadium when Keary seized the initiative with an individual try.

After a stampeding run from Boyd Cordner, the South Sydney reject darted blindside and made Mitchell Barnett grab air to silence the crowd of 24,412 - the Knights' biggest in a year.

Roosters coach Trent Robinson paid tribute to his big men - particularly co- captain Cordner - for laying the foundation for his halves to come up big in the clutch.

Sydney Roosters stars Aidan Guerra, Mitchell Aubusson urge patience over Latrell Mitchell - The Sydney Morning Herald

Latrell Mitchell's Sydney Roosters teammates have urged patience with the 19-year-old after the emerging star was given time off to visit family in Taree last weekend.

Mitchell is expected to make his return in the Roosters' Anzac Day NRL blockbuster against St George Illawarra after he was rested from last Friday's win over Newcastle.

Aidan Guerra, who knows all too well the ups and downs of being a first grade footballer after he was last year dropped a couple of months after playing State of Origin, said Mitchell was always going to take time to get the best out of himself.

"It's a rollercoaster," Guerra said.

"It's a tough sport whether you've been in it for 10 years or whether you've been in it for two years.

"Everything's new to you when you're young. It's all a learning curve and sometimes there's ups and sometimes...

Sydney Roosters' Jake Friend expecting fiery Anzac Day reunion with Dragons - The Sydney Morning Herald

Jake Friend stops short of calling it hate. But he knows his words and those of coach Trent Robinson will still be ringing in the Dragons' ears. Plastered to the wall. Wherever they need to see it.

"I'm not going to dwell on it now and go back into it, but I'm sure they'll be talking about it in their sheds," the Roosters co-captain said. "We said what we did last year and we're not taking that back. It's been said.

Teddy's $700K sacrifice to join Chooks - dailytelegraph.com.au

WESTS Tigers star James Tedesco sacrificed up to $700,000 to join the Sydney Roosters — because he “wants to be the best.”

The Sunday Telegraph can reveal the Roosters’ offer to Tedesco was actually third-best behind Wests Tigers and Canterbury.

Yet Roosters supremo Nick Politis and coach Trent Robinson still got their man.

A desire to play at the powerful Roosters and to “better himself” drove Tedesco — the incumbent NSW fullback — to a new four-year deal at Bondi.

Close friends to Tedesco claim the fullback has never been driven by money and his family are financially well-off through property development and investments in Sydney’s west.

THE 16-YEAR attendance record for the traditional Anzac Day clash is set to be smashed when high-flying rivals St George Illawarra and the Roosters line up at Allianz Stadium on Tuesday.

The crowd record for the game of 40,752 set in 2013 is expected to topple with fans of both clubs will come out of the woodwork with the Dragons on top of the table with a 6-1 record and the Roosters hot on their heels with five wins from seven starts.

Anzac spirit to lift Roosters, Dragons - NRL.COM

The traditional Anzac Day clash between the Sydney Roosters and St George Illawarra Dragons has become the most significant regular season match on the rugby league calendar, and both sides believe it's their duty to honour past and present servicemen and women with a brand of footy befitting the occasion.

Form goes out the window when these sides meet in the annual blockbuster, with both sets of players often lifting several gears on the back of the energy and emotion created by a sold-out Allianz Stadium.

‌"It's our Australia Day, for me. That's how important it is. It's the day we commemorate the culture and the history that's been passed on from generation to generation," Roosters coach Trent Robinson said.

SG Ball: Roosters hold off fast-finishing Panthers - The Roar

The Sydney Roosters have thwarted a late surge from the Penrith Panthers to prevail 22-18 in their SG Ball semi-final at UOW Jubilee Oval.

In a thrilling contest, the Roosters led by 16 points with 17 minutes remaining, before the Panthers mounted a charge to score two tries in the space of four minutes.

The defence of Sydney held strong for the last period of the game, stopping a number plays deep in their red-zone to grind out a hard-fought victory.

It wasn’t without controversy however, as Sydney fullback Bayleigh Bentley-Hape was sent to the sin-bin for a professional foul with just under ten minutes remaining. He was joined in the bin just four minutes later by Penrith reserve Bradley Affleck, who committed a similar offence.

The match was fiery at times, with hard-hitting defence resulting in pushing and shoving on a number of occasions. Referee Tom Cambourn had to work...
